succulent bridal shower favors

Looking to bring life to an upcoming wedding? You might have seen plenty of party favor ideas around the internet, from custom made chocolates, to one-of-a-kind candles. One of my personal favorite choices from the plethora of party favor options out there are succulents. Succulents can make great favors because of their affordability, color, and uniqueness. What makes succulents stand out is that unlike most party favors, they don't just get immediately thrown away. Succulents are something that your guests can take home and cherish for years to come.

How To Make Your Own Succulent Favors

1. Source your succulents

2. Find unique pots

3. Transplant your plants

4. Set up your tabling

Sourcing Succulents For DIY Party Favors

Luckily, this is the easiest part of creating succulent party favors. Many online websites sell succulents in bulk for affordable prices. Unfortunately, sometimes online shops will ship out plants without the pots, making it difficult to transplant the plants when it comes time to set up. You should look for plants that come with the pot, since this will make the process much easier. We offer bulk succulents with pots for just this reason. You can also try sourcing succulents locally if you would like to save on shipping time.

Finding The Right Pots

After succulents, pots are the most important part of your succulent favors. When deciding which pots to choose for your succulent favors you should consider the theme of your event. For example, if you are getting succulents for a baby shower, you might want to choose pink pots. If you're going for a corporate event, maybe white pots will be better. Whatever the case, the most important part is picking the right size. If you choose to buy succulents in 2-inch pots, like the ones listed above, then you can simply order pots that are the same size. Amazon has a wide variety of succulent pots that you can use.

How To Transplant Your Succulents

Almost done! Once you've gotten your plants and pots, it's time to start transplanting. Get a clean table or workspace and lay out a cloth in case things get messy. Now take your succulents and gently separate them from their nursery pots. If they don't slide out immediately, don't tug the plant too hard. Instead, apply pressure to the pot with the palm of your hand and remove the succulent gently. Once the plants are all out, simply insert them into the new pots. The good thing about getting 2-inch pots is that there won't be much excess dirt. If you happen to need more dirt, any potting soil will work to fill in the extra space. Once this is done, lightly water the plants to let the soil settle and clean off any dirt that may have gotten on your pots.

How To Arrange Your Succulent Favors

Now for the fun part! This is where your creativity can really take over. When setting up your favors, you should always keep in mind the theme of your event. Try matching the colors, but don't feel like you have to stick to one color, try out different color schemes and presentation styles, have fun with it! I recommend having some sort of sign with something along the lines of "Please Take One" or "Watch Me Grow." There are tons of signs available on Amazon, but you can also make one yourself.

Make It Memorable

You can always add additional gifts along with your succulents. I recommend using favor bags to create easy grab-and-go succulents for your guests. Don't forget to get as creative as possible, and try your best to provide an experience for that won't be forgotten. If you're looking for more interesting plants, check out our air plants. Best of luck on your succulent-filled journey!
